NUDE AID, an Erotic Art Making and Give-Away Event,

is Coming Soon

Nude Aid is coming on Sunday, December 10, infusing the Bay Area with hundreds of new works of erotic art for the holidays. It’s the brainchild of Dr. Annie Sprinkle, legendary prostitute/porn star-turned-internationally acclaimed artist/sexologist, and is produced by burlesque artist Lady Monster and Center for Sex & Culture director and pleasure activist Carol Queen. Nude Aid will help CSC retire debt incurred when it had to move from its space late last summer.

At Nude Aid you will be greeted by thirty professional artists drawing, painting, sculpting, photographing, and making erotic art, live, inspired by a diverse team of two dozen nude or fetish-clad models of all colors, sizes and genders. Admission of $20-40 (sliding scale) entitles each visitor one ticket to trade for a work of art created live during the event. Multiple ticket purchases are encouraged. Everyone is welcome at Nude Aid, as long as they are over 21.

At 111 Minna Gallery (around the corner from SFMOMA) patrons may also enjoy beverages from the cash bar and free "whores d'ouevres." A silent auction featuring works donated by noted erotic artists and collectors will give patrons more great erotic art to acquire. Then at 8:45 PM, select pieces from celebrity donors will be auctioned live by Dr. Carol Queen and Sister Roma of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Many notorious San Francisco personalities will model and entertain at Nude Aid, including burlesque coach Bombshell Betty, Snatchy the Clown, fetish model Madison Young, Jukie Sunshine, Jim e Sparkle Pants, Dylan Vade, Isis Starr, Eva Von Slut, Lady Monster herself, and many others. Big, busty, beautiful blues diva and Bay Area favorite Candye Kane will model topless AND grace the stage with a bawdy song or two. Other participants include Scarlot Harlot, Jennifer Blowdryer, and Melinda Adams.

Just in time for XXXmas and all the other holidays when you might want to surprise your sweetheart or treat yourself to a unique work of art, NUDE AID will be a sexy, arty extravaganza and a uniquely San Franciscan party! Experimental music and sounds provided by DJ Pantshead of the ECC and DJ PussPuss.

Some of the thirty live artists include:

Elizabeth Stephens, Charles Gatewood, Ruby Pearl, Dave Cherry, Dee Dee Russell, Sadie Lune, Alejanrdo R. Torres, Randal Alan Smith, Kam Yui Cheung, Craig Kersten, Matt Sachs, Sister Dora the Carnalite, and many others!

Artists and collectors who have donated works to the silent and live auction include:

Porn queens Nina Hartley, Gloria Leonard, Candida Royalle, and Sharon Mitchell, actor and photographer Leonard Nimoy, legendary collage artist Winston Smith, Joani Blank (who has donated an original by Czech artist Jan Saudek), "Sexual Secrets" author and master collagist Penny Slinger, Craig Morey, Joel Peter Witkin, Cedrick Itor (student of Dali), Larry Utley, "Fetish Girls" photographer Eric Kroll, Katie Gilmartin, David Steinberg, Carol Queen and Robert Lawrence, and many more!

The Center for Sex & Culture is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit educational organization which hosts sex ed classes for adults, curates cultural events having to do with sex, and maintains a sexuality library and archive. They are online at www.sexandculture.org. The SF Bay Guardian called CSC San Francisco’s “Best Emerging Sex Nonprofit.”

We all know the story of Clara, whose broken nutcracker rushes in to save her from the Rat King beneath the family Christmas tree… or do we? At the 2006 Dance-Along Nutcracker: CLARA-fied, it’s Clara’s turn to set the record straight. Clara, played by big band singer Gail Wilson, is all grown up and she’s back to clear up all the nonsense from that Tchaikovsky ballet.

This year’s Dance-Along highlights include:

· Big band singer Gail Wilson returns to the Bay Area to star as Clara, who takes the audience on an offbeat turn down memory lane.

· Conducting the Band is Guest Conductor Bradley Connlain, band leader of City Swing and music director of more than 15 community musical productions around the Bay area.

· San Francisco Opera Ballet and San Francisco Ballet veteran Carolyn Carvajal choreographs the feature dance numbers and dances as Drosselmeyer and the Rat King.

· The Opening Night Gala features a cocktail party with dancing to the big band sound of City Swing fronted by Gail Wilson.

· Corinne Levy, dancer with Dance Through Time for 12 years and a veteran of Beach Blanket Babylon, returns to the Dance-Along Nutcracker to dance as Clara.

· All performances feature Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and other music performed by the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, the Official Band of the City of San Francisco.

Tired of letting professional dancers have all the fun? The Dance-Along Nutcracker lets the audience concoct its own choreography beneath the spotlights of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

While the Band performs Nutcracker favorites like Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Waltz of the Flowers and Russian Trepak, sugar plum wannabes leap and pirouette about the dance floor.

Tutu rentals and fairy wands are available for those with nothing to wear. Wallflowers have as much fun as dancers.
