Life sucks
Dec. 4th, 2005 01:21 pmWell this is the second time I was all ready to go to Dickens... Last weekend I was at my sisters house for Turkey Day weekend and we decided to go see Rent instead of bringing me home on Saturday so I could go to Dickens on Sunday. Rent was wonderful, the only thing I missed was the original Mimi (and her voice). So it wasn't a bad thing.
But this weekend I was all set. I've only been to Dickens fair once in my life, with an ex who hated dancing (gasp!). He is not missed. I was up late night til 4 am digging through boxes in my closet looking for stuff to assemble a passable Victorian outfit, to find out that my roommate had flaked and forgotten he had promised me a ride to Dickens and back today. He has other plans for tonight, so although he was spending the entire weekend at Dickens he wasn't planning on coming home afterwards, which is of course his choice but it sucks for me. This is a bad time of year to be jobless and carless. Now why do I have dreams of being homeless, or living back in the "crackhouse" (as my sister called my last place of domain) of a few years back. If only I could enjoy sleeping in again since I have no place to go, and not keep having these silly bad dreams.
I hope everyone who is at Dickens fair is having lots of fun, and hopefully I'll make it next year if this year doesn't work out for me.
